With a quickly rising career, it wasn’t long before he caught the ear of veteran producer, Curly Corwin. Packing his bags for Nashville, Nathan traveled with Curly to the legendary Music Row to record his first album. For the project, Curly selected four of Nathan’s self-penned tunes and added songs written by some of Nashville’s finest songwriters such as Scotty Emerick, Troy Jones, Wynn Varble, Donny Kees, and Paul Overstreet – all heavyweight writers with a total of over twenty #1 songs to their credit.

When speaking about country music, Nathan comments, “It speaks to me in a way that nothing else can really.” Always digging a little deeper in each song, Nathan is sharing the music he loves on stages around the country including well-known Nashville venues like the world famous Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge.

Now reaching a worldwide audience with the release of his album, Oklahoma Sunrise, Nathan is poised to set the music world on fire! Perhaps his producer, Curly Corwin, states it best, “The sun is definitely rising on Nathan Burris’ career!”

With 15 originals and more on the way while covering all your favorites like never before, this is a band for all types. Midwest Tragedy mixes all that is red dirt with your favorites from country and rock, to make a concoction that is sure to please. Tyler Russell is a singer/songwriter from Yukon, Oklahoma. At the age of 19 he found a love for red dirt music and began playing guitar and writing his own songs shortly thereafter.  By the time he was 20, he had recorded his first demo and had begun playing small gigs at rodeo’s, wedding’s, and restaurants. One year later he was invited to play at the Centennial Rodeo Opry at the stockyards in Oklahoma City. Tyler has been in the studio working on his first demo cd while performing across the state of Oklahoma.

Dirty Red and the Soul Shakers consists of Eric “Dirty Red” McDaniel on vocals and harp, Robb Hibbard on guitar, Reese Floyd on bass and Mike Bell on drums. The band’s original tunes, some of which can be found on our debut CD “SoulShakin,” have been featured on local TV station KSBI, as well as KGOU’s “The Weekend Blues” (105.7 FM) and KRXO’s “Sunday Night Blues Cruise” (107.7 FM).

Dirty Red and the Soul Shakers also have been featured in a number of local publications, including The Oklahoma Gazette.

In addition to playing our own tunes, we enjoy playing covers by all the blues greats. We’re a blues band that also excels at performing a wide variety of music. Like Dirty Red told The Oklahoma Gazette last year, “The live show is something to behold. I have a very good band. It’s really tight … it’s always very energetic. You feel the soul. It’s very electric, and the crowd gets up and gets into it. It’s dancin’ music.”

Dirty Red and the Soul Shakers currently are planning on producing another CD of original tunes with a tentative late 2013 release date. Until then, enjoy “SoulShakin,” or come out and see us at a venue near you!
